FithFath Farm
This is a suburban mini hobby flock in unincorporated Wheaton. Our chickens enjoy the outdoors in the daytime, and sleep securely indoors at night. They have a varied, mostly organic diet which includes lots of healthy human food scraps in addition to their seed/grain mix and an organically cared for pasture full of various weeds and greens, some going to seed, worms and insects... We have a mixed-breed bantam rooster, "Pasquale" (aka Pat), who is devoted to his mixed bantam wife, "Sylvia", and daughter, "Doodle". While Sylvia is his first love, he also watches over the four large-breed hens that he helped us raise from chicks: Theresa a speckled Sussex, Mary, a mixed-breed, and Josephine and Theresa the two black Langhsan. There are a few young Jersey Giant pullets, hatched in February as well. At the very end of May, we also just adopted several more chickens from a woman who had an egg-farm but is moving out of state. The new chickens include several Isa Brown hens, 2 Rhode Island red hens, a big handsome Rhode Island Red Rooster, two bantam Sussex hens, and a bantam barred rock rooster (he is also the first of the new ones to acquire a name: "Wind Up Toy").
